Pupalicious Ice Cream for Hot Summer Days

We are using four different LickiMats for our ice creams

LikiMat Buddy – LickiMat Buddy is made of rubber and is a little floppy. However, once your treat is frozen into the grooves it becomes stiff.

LickiMat Slomo – With LickiMat Slomo you can add wet and dry food at the same time. It has two knobbled areas and 2 areas that have indents. We only used the indents when we covered ours with our doggy ice cream. It is made of a sturdier rubber and does not bend like the LickiMat Buddy.

LickiMat Splash – The LickiMat Splash has a suction cup on the bottom of the bowl so you can stick it to any smooth surfaces and it won’t move around. Great on a window, the bath or shower, or kitchen cupboards. It can be used to entertain whilst you are cutting your dog’s nails, washing and brushing them or you just don’t want the bowl to move around the floor! Just smear anything your dog loves onto the surface and voila your dog is now occupied.

LickiMat Wobble – The LickiMat Wobble is a bowl with knobbles on the inside. The idea is to mush food into the nobbles and then let your dog have fun trying to get at the food as it wobbles all over the place. Also very amusing for humans to watch. It can also be turned inside out so that the knobbles are on the outside and the bowl is now upside down and stable.

Banana, Apple & Blueberry Ice Cream

You will need:

• 1 banana
• 1/2 to 1 cup of cooked apples
• 1/4 cup of blueberries
• 1/2 to 1 cup of plain yoghurt

1. Peel, core, chop up apples, and gently cook until soft. Once cooled mash with a fork or potato masher.
2. Wash blueberries and gently cook them. Once cooled, mash with fork or potato masher. You can use frozen blueberries.
3. Add to a bowl your mashed banana, apples, blueberries, and plain yoghurt (preferably with acidophilus) and mix well.
4. Spread your mixture onto your LickiMat and freeze.

Banana & Strawberry Ice Cream

You will need:

• I banana
• Punnet or 1 cup of frozen strawberries
• 1/2 to 1 cups yoghurt

1. Wash fresh strawberries and put them into a pan and gently cook until they resemble mush! Alternatively, you can buy frozen strawberries and do the same. Let cool.
2. Mash the bananas and strawberries together and add the yoghurt.
3. Spread your mixture onto your Lickimat and freeze.

Peanut Butter & Banana Ice Cream

You will need:

• 1 banana
• 1/2 to 1 cup of fresh peanut butter
• 1/2 to 1 cups yoghurt

1. Mash banana with peanut butter in a bowl. I use peanut butter that I make from just peanuts. You can buy this at Binn Inn.
2. Add the yoghurt and spread the mixture onto your LickiMat and freeze.
3. I sometimes like to add coconut oil.

Kumara, Carrot & Banana Ice Cream

You will need:

• I medium Kumara
• 1-2 carrots
• 1 banana
• 1/2 to 1 cup of yoghurt

1. Cook the Kumara and carrots till soft and let cool.
2. Mash both the Kumara, carrots and banana in a bowl with the yoghurt
3. Spread onto the LickiMat and freeze.

Bone Broth Ice Cream

You will need:

• Bones of your choice (preferably meaty bones)
• Chicken or tuna
• 6-8 cups of Water

1. Put meaty bones, chicken, or tuna and water into a slow cooker and cook for around 12 hours. The longer you leave it the more that the marrow will be extracted from the inside of the bones. It should be a bit gloopy when it has cooled.
2. Spread this gloopy mixture on your lickMat and freeze.

Other things you could add to your Pupalicious Ice Creams

For pups with joint pain and arthritis you can add small amount of:

• Turmeric
• Organic Coconut Oil
• Medication
• King Salmon Oil

Do NOT add any man made sugar in your ice creams.
